Nature loves repeating patterns, and while many are beautiful, others can be harmful. Humans often find themselves stuck in unhelpful loops, preventing us from growing into the person we aspire to be and creating the life we desire. I will help you untangle yourself from these loops, providing a healing and supportive environment for you to explore your past, present, and potential future so that you may live with a greater sense of freedom and joy.
We will explore the areas in your life causing you harm or distress from place of non-judgment, allowing you to grieve old stories and process the origins of these wounds. I understand the strain of the 'hustle' culture of Silicon Valley, so in order to find your balance, we may get creative - and we may laugh!
As desired or indicated, I will incorporate creative modalities such as art, writing, creative problem solving, meditation and dreamwork into our sessions.
Together we will find and build upon your strengths, so that you feel pride and confidence moving through the world.
Our stories may shape us; but I believe we hold the tools for crafting our future. Let me help you find and strengthen these tools, help you exit your negative loops, and write a new story for your life.
I am an eclectic practitioner, in that I may use and provide services from various therapy modalities, including Somatic/Hakomi, psychodynamic, Gestalt, CBT, Transpersonal, Mindfulness and Humanistic methods.
New research has shown that our bodies 'remember' and hold trauma in ways we had previously dismissed. The fallout from traumatic events can include the rewiring of brain pathways along with increased feelings of disconnection or disdain for our bodies.
By incorporating our bodies into a therapeutic practice, we are able to more quickly deepen into an old wound and explore, process and release the hurt from these places. You may have experienced this as the sentiment: 'I thought I had already dealt with this issue - why is it showing up again?'
Often, somatic work can directly address these areas in ways that other modalities may take longer to explore. While this does not guarantee rapid healing, it may allow you the opportunity to heal areas previously overlooked and help reduce the possibility of re-entering a harmful loop.
